  • Located in Freestone County, Texas, the 2JL Ranch is a diverse and pristine 1,851-acre property with a ½ mile of Trinity River frontage.  Since 2020, CEP has assisted the landowners in developing and implementing a multiple-use management plan focused on habitat enhancement and forest health, with a focus on white-tailed deer and migratory waterfowl.

  • Located in the southern portion of Henderson County, Texas, is a striking tract of land known as the Bluebonnet Ranch. This 4,063-acre property is comprised of a broad mosaic of forest types ranging from rugged shortleaf pine ridges and uplands to bottomland hardwood sloughs and marshes, as well as numerous lakes and ponds. Since 2019, CEP has assisted the current landowner in developing and implementing a multifaceted management strategy designed to:

    • Boost overall aesthetic appeal and viewscapes;

    • Improve forest health and productivity;

    • Increase recreational capacity;

    • Create beneficial habitat for a wide array of wildlife species and

    • Produce positive capital streams to offset management activities.

  • With 9.5 miles of Trinity River frontage, the 7,250-acre Redtown Ranch represents a classic example of a multi-use diversified ranch. CEP is currently working with Conservation Equity Management to enhance and develop the natural resource values of this unique rural property. With a 700+ acre greentree reservoir, more than 500 acres of moist soils units, and thousands of acres of natural river bottom habitat, intensive waterfowl management is a key component to the development strategy of this asset. The project also involves management of a sustainable grazing program, oversight on 1,600+ acres of commercial farmland and ongoing development of compatible ecosystem services.

  • As a company-owned project, CEP is developing a 73-acre rural property in Montgomery County, Arkansas, best described as a blend of shortleaf pine ridges, open meadows, and riparian habitat. Almost entirely surrounded by the Ouachita National Forest, the property is being manicured as a recreational retreat and conservation area, with a focus on black bear, wild turkey, and white-tailed deer.

  • Cypress Point Reserve is a 756-acre company-owned property located in Liberty County, Texas. The property is managed by CEP, primarily as a wildlife reserve with a focus on aquatic habitats and hardwood communities. Key species associated with the ongoing management include the American alligator, white-tailed deer, and migratory waterfowl.

  • Managed by CEP as a nature retreat for an out-of-state landowner, the Little Woods Retreat is a highly-unique 71-acre property located in the transitional area between the Blackland Prairie and Post Oak Savannah ecoregions in Anderson County, Texas. The primary goal of this project is to aesthetically enhance the property through sound management strategies focused on overall health of the ecological system. Management strategies are geared toward improvement of post oak savanna habitat and associated wildlife communities. Key components include the use of prescribed fire and selective herbicides to enhance wildlife, forest, and native grass diversity and productivity.

“CEP’s comprehensive, long term management plan for our property has been very helpful because it gives me a long-term vision for our property. It gives you comfort that you’re following the process to get to the ultimate goal of what you want your property to be .”
